The NATO Tiger Meet 2026 is one of the most anticipated events in the European aviation calendar, bringing together front-line fighter squadrons from across NATO that share the distinctive tiger emblem.
Hosted at Araxos Air Base in Greece, this exercise combines intensive flying operations with a strong visual identity—making it particularly appealing for aviation photographers.
This trip is built around capturing that action in the most effective way possible. You’ll experience both ends of the photographic spectrum: fast jet operations from ground level during the official Spotter Day, and dynamic air-to-ground opportunities in the surrounding low-level areas where participating aircraft operate through valleys and terrain. Expect a varied mix of aircraft types, mission profiles, and—importantly—special tiger liveries that are rarely seen outside of this event.
The short duration of the trip keeps it focused and efficient, maximising time on location while minimising unnecessary travel. Basing ourselves in Patras allows straightforward access to Araxos Air Base as well as nearby low-level photography areas, ensuring each day is built around practical shooting opportunities rather than long transits.
While the flying is the clear priority, the trip also offers a strong social element. Evenings are spent as a group, reviewing images, sharing experiences from the day, and discussing plans for upcoming shoots. It’s an opportunity not just to photograph a unique military aviation event, but to do so alongside like-minded enthusiasts who value both the aircraft and the photography.
Overall, this is a well-paced, access-focused trip designed for those who want to come away with a strong set of images from one of NATO’s most distinctive and visually rewarding exercises.
