As part of the Swedish Air Force's 100th Anniversary celebrations, COAP is pleased to offer a rare opportunity to photograph the remarkable collection at the Swedish Air Force Museum (Flygvapenmuseum) in Linköping during an exclusive evening opening.
Normally bustling with daytime visitors, the museum will open its doors exclusively for a small group of photographers, allowing uninterrupted access to many of Sweden's most significant military aviation exhibits.
The evening is expected to run between approximately 1700 and 2100 (final timings to be confirmed) and will provide the opportunity to photograph aircraft and displays without the distractions normally found during public opening hours.
Museum staff will also be providing dedicated lighting on selected exhibits, creating opportunities for more dramatic and creative images. Discussions are also underway regarding the inclusion of period re-enactors to help bring parts of the collection to life, although this remains subject to confirmation.
The Swedish Air Force Museum is regarded as one of Europe's premier aviation museums, preserving the story of Swedish military aviation from its earliest years through the Cold War and into the modern Gripen era. Highlights include beautifully restored aircraft representing every generation of the Flygvapnet, together with engines, weapons, uniforms and historic displays. The museum is also home to the recovered remains of the famous Catalina DC-3, one of the most significant Cold War aviation exhibits anywhere in the world.
With numbers expected to be limited to around 20–30 photographers, this promises to be a relaxed evening with plenty of room to work at your own pace and make the most of this unique photographic opportunity.

Monday 24 August 2026 – Swedish Air Force Museum Night Shoot
Guests should arrive at the museum during the late afternoon for registration before the exclusive evening session begins.
From approximately 1700hrs, the museum will close to the public and become available exclusively to our photography group. Over the following four hours you'll have unrestricted access to the galleries, with dedicated lighting on selected exhibits and the freedom to photograph many of the aircraft without visitors in the background.
The session is expected to conclude at approximately 2100hrs, although final timings will be confirmed nearer the event.
