If you're an aviation photography enthusiast, attending EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2026 will be an absolute dream come true!

This isn’t just an airshow, it’s the epicentre of global aviation passion, where legendary warbirds, cutting-edge jets, and homebuilt marvels fill the skies in breathtaking displays every single day.

The sheer variety of aircraft, from rare vintage planes to the latest innovations, offers an endless canvas for stunning shots at every turn. With golden-hour lighting over perfectly staged static displays, heart-pounding aerial performances, and intimate access to pilots and aircraft, Oshkosh is a paradise for anyone who lives to capture the beauty of flight.

It's not just a trip, it's the ultimate photography adventure that will supercharge your portfolio and ignite your passion like never before!

As you would expect at the world’s largest aviation event there is a great deal to see and do, so having 6 full days at the show enables you to do it at your own pace.

So, if you have never been before what should you expect... What exactly is there to see?

Well... In a word lots! 2025 was a record-breaking year, with approximately 704,000 people attending the event. On Wittman Field itself there were 16,246 aircraft operations in an 11-day period!

As well as the aircraft landing, taking off, on the ground and flying in the daily airshow there is also:

962 trade exhibitors in 5 huge exhibition halls.

Giant ‘Fly Market’ selling non-aviation and aviation items, from bits and parts to whole aircraft!

All the leading general aviation aircraft companies with their latest products

The floatplane 'Splash-In' on nearby Lake Winnebago

The opportunity to book flights in B-17 Flying Fortress: B-25 Mitchell, B-24 Liberator, B-29 Superfortress, Ford Trimotor, and several Bell 47 helicopters

• Demonstration flights during the mornings

• An afternoon airshow each day, most including warbirds with pyrotechnics

• The EAA’s Air Museum: a large collection of immaculate aeroplanes including rare types and world record-breakers

• Theater In The Woods – nightly musical entertainment

We will be flying into and returning from Chicago and will use our private self drive vehicles to transfer to our accommodation which is local to the event showgrounds. We will be using these vehicles thrioughout the so will have extremly flexible transport options to get around the various parts of the show and to also take in all the evening based events.

It is in short a staggering event and one that everyone with an aviation interest should should do at least once!

Itinerary

A full itinerary for the trip will be published in due course. However the general outline currently is:

Sunday 19th July: Fly into Chicago. Meet other group members at the airport and travel to Oshkosh.

Monday 20th July - Saturday 26th July: EAA Air Venture event runs at the event grounds and Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh.

Sunday 27th July: Drive back to Chicago around lunchtime for evening flights back Home.

Monday 28th July: Flights arrive back in the UK.
