This is a unique event! PhanCon is about getting time under the skin of the Hellenic Air Force Phantoms in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else and balancing it with a relaxed social meet absorbing all things F-4.
Rather than a “general trip”, this is a specific event, with a strictly limited group, for people who love Phantoms. It is organised by the F-4 Phantom Society, of which you MUST be a member to attend/apply.
We base ourselves in Patras for four nights and work the fixed PhanCon itinerary.
This trip is about absorbing the complete Phantom scene...
Nothing is ever guaranteed in military aviation, but the ethos here is to absorb the aircraft and atmosphere of one of the world's last F-4 squadrons - the famous 338 Squadron 'Ares' at Andravida. On base, it’s about the chance to shoot Phantoms and the squadron camaraderie that comes with a dedicated event, as well as any social scenes and other shoots that are part of the itinerary.
Experience and pace…
The trip will have a set itinerary and set rules around it, and we will be working within them. Usually, this is group locations for action, which can be intense, followed by relaxed social gatherings.
The social side…
Small group, shared obsession, and Greece in the evenings. After the day’s shooting, it’s easy conversation, good local restaurants, and the kind of debrief that turns into shared learning without anyone making it a 'workshop'. If you like swapping notes on settings, lenses, fast jets and life in general, you’ll fit right in.
Next steps…
Two important operational points...
Saturday 9th May – Travel out / arrive 12:25 / Patras
Arrive and settle into Patras for four nights. We’ll do a straightforward arrival brief so everyone’s aligned on timings, kit, and the rhythm of the week. Photographic intent: get ready for two very different shooting environments (base and valley) with minimal fuss. Do not book ANY flights until your place is confirmed.
Sunday 10th May – On base at Araxos as to view NaATO Tiger Meet Airshow
Join the COAP group already in country to attend the NATO Tiger Meet Airshow for 2026.
Monday 11th May
The first day under the PhanCon itinerary.
Tuesday 12th May – Phancon on-base Day 1 (Andravida Air Base)
First day on base with the Phantoms at Andravida. Expect a mix of ops, down time, socials, merch, action & atmosphere.
Wednesday 13th May – Phancon on-base Day 2 (Andravida Air Base)
Second day on base. This allows changing positions and light for the set ops patterns.
Thursday 14th May – Vouraikos Valley morning / return to Athens / fly home
Transfer back towards Athens for flights home. Do not book ANY flights until your place is confirmed.
• Dates: 9th–14th May 2026
• Price: From £995 twin share (land only) / £1285 single room (land only)
• Single room supplement: Included in single room price (twin share vs single as priced)
Think variety and flexibility. A mid-range zoom is useful for close work with aircraft and people, and a longer lens is the tool for the ops action. Bring what you need to stay comfortable outside for long sessions: sun protection, layers for early starts, and something that keeps dust and wind from being a constant annoyance.
If you book twin-share without naming a roommate, your booking may sit provisionally until a match is found. If a match can’t be made, you may be asked to move to the single-room price, or your booking may be cancelled under the travel organiser’s rules.
This is land only pricing. Flights can be quoted on request through the travel organiser if you’d like them arranged as part of your booking.
Please do not book flights until the trip is confirmed as going ahead and you’ve received the final joining instructions. Aviation-led itineraries can shift, and we don’t want anyone locked into the wrong timings.
Passports, entry requirements, and travel insurance are your responsibility. Insurance is mandatory from time of booking and should cover medical, cancellation/curtailment, and camera gear.
Bring cash for merch.
Final repeat - you must be a member of the F-4 Society to attend this event.
