Poland Special is a brilliant seven-day itinerary built around three very different photographic environments, and pulled together with ace photography as a priority!
We start in Krakow with a visit to this jaw-dropping Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego (Polish Aviation Museum), then move into two full days at the Leszno Antidotum Airshow (with tickets) and the kind of afternoon into sunset flying that aviation photographers were born to shoot. After that, we head to Pila for a Cold War heritage shoot, then spend two days working the local region photographically before returning to Krakow and heading home.
This will be a pretty full on immersion in aviation photography in the best possible way!
• Duration: 7 days
• Location: Poland
• Group size: 6-10
• Style: Exotic Wings
• Key areas: Krakow, Leszno (Antidotum Airshow), Piła, other regional shoot, back to Krakow
• Pace: Pretty full on!
• Photography: Museum line-ups, major airshow shooting with late summer evening light, Cold War heritage shoot, plus additional regional aviation photography
This is one incredible aviation photography trip, without pulling any punches. You get the detail-rich experience of an impressive museum visit where you can work angles and layers in your own time and style. You get the pace and action of a top-tier European airshow, with an event that’s designed for photographers and flying that photographers all over the world crave. And you get a standout heritage shoot built around a genuine Cold War type! More too, once finalised.
If you like coming home with images that feel like you’ve been shooting for a month of incredible aviation, rather than a folder full of “more of the same”, then this trip is built for that.
Expect early departures, long sessions, and days that are planned around light and flying periods rather than convenience. The airshow days in particular are about staying switched on - it’s a brilliant event, one of the best in Europe in fact, so plan to make the most of it.
That said, it will of course be run sensibly. There’s always a point where the plan is to reset, recharge and savour the moments, but overall this trip earns its “full on photography” label.
Krakow’s Muzeum Lotnictwa Polskiego gives us a strong start to the week: the line-up of MiG-21s alone will leave you in awe! The exhibits a re a mix of super rare and super cool… There’s some great photography to be had.
Leszno Antidotum Airshow is an awesome centrepiece. Two full days there means we can prioritise photography without fighting the crowds. The light and the participants list at this photo-friendly show are just a perfect combo.
Piła brings a very different flavour: Cold War heritage with a specific headline subject and the opportunity to make images that portray Cold War heritage in the best possible setting.
The two “local region” days (22–23 June) will be developed over the coming weeks. More details soon.
This is a week where your lens choices will change from day to day…
We keep it practical and photographer-to-photographer, sharing where to stand and why, what the sequence is likely to give you, and how to adapt when the plan shifts!
This is a small group of aviation photographers who’ve come to shoot and enjoy the week with others who also love it. Evenings are fun, tasty and friendly: a chance to decompress, talk images, compare notes, and get set for the next day without it feeling like hard work.
COAP Wings trips are designed to reduce friction and stress for you whilst getting some of your best ever results. We get the group where it needs to be, when it needs to be there, with a plan that makes photographic sense.
On the ground that means clear briefings, sensible positioning calls, and adjustments when aviation does what aviation does. Nothing is ever guaranteed in aviation, but you know that. We work the opportunities on the day and keep the group moving in the direction of the strongest images.
If this sounds like your kind of week, the next step is to complete the booking form below when it’s ready and we’ll be in touch with more details. We’ll stay in touch to share the final plans as they’re finalised nearer the time, including the joining instructions and the confirmed trip logistics.

Gear notes
Plan for a mixed week: a wide-to-standard zoom (or a couple of primes) for museum and heritage work, plus a telephoto for airshow flying. A second body helps on airshow days if you want quick swaps between long and mid-range. Expect to be on your feet a lot, so comfortable footwear and weather-flexible outer layers matter.
Travel notes
If you’re booking twin-share without naming a roommate, the booking may remain provisional until a match is found. If a match can’t be made, you may be asked to move to a single room arrangement (single supplement may apply) or cancel in line with the booking terms.
This trip is offered on a Land Only basis. International flights can be quoted on request through the travel organiser.
Please do not book flights until the trip is confirmed as going ahead and you have written confirmation of the final schedule details.
Passports, travel documents and travel insurance are the guest’s responsibility. Comprehensive travel insurance is required from the time of booking.
