USA Central - Texas 2025

Texas has some of the rarest and most unique warbirds in the world. It has many private owners, huge museums, a massive military and industry presence, and some cracking airshows.

The focus of this trip will be the two days at historic Ellington Field on October 18th and 19th for the Commemorative Air Force's Wings Over Houston air show. Other visits and opportunities will be confirmed later.

This 12-day trip has a big chunk of everything, and is built for those who want to get up close with some of the most exciting aircraft and collections in the US. And those Texas BBQs...

After flying into Dallas–Fort Worth, it’s straight into a road trip of non-stop line-up of aviation highlights.

Expect time at Alliance Airport to catch the locals (lots of very interesting movements here, including some great aggressor aircraft) and a wander through the fascinating Mid-America Museum. We are also working on private visits to the incredible sights of privately owned MiG-23s and MiG-17s… the stuff of legends!

Let’s not forget that no Texas road trip would be complete without the evenings at Texas steakhouses and BBQs, with hearty, down-home American food and live music!

Then comes the weekend we’ve all been waiting for - the CAF's Wings Over Houston, what a show! We’ll spend two full days surrounded by incredible displays at Ellington Field, with the expectation of shooting some of the most amazing warbirds and classic jets on the planet. Optional extras include the bonuses of exploring the Lone Star Flight Museum and stepping inside the NASA Johnson Space Center for a taste of the US space program, both past and future.

Our adventure continues west towards San Antonio, where we’re planning a visit to Lackland AFB, with a real treat  currently in the final stages of planning.

Finally, it’s back to Dallas for a grand send off. We’re hoping to spend some time at the Commemorative Air Force headquarters, photographing icons like the mighty B-29 and B-24, before wrapping up with a visit to the superb Frontiers of Flight Museum at Dallas Love Field. Then it’s back to DFW Airport for our afternoon flight home, with full memory cards (and bellies!?), with stories to last a lifetime.

This trip has a bit of everything – modern jets, classic warbirds, museum gems, and one of the best airshows in the USA. All in one relaxed, friendly group setting where the focus is on photography, fun, and making the most of every stop.
