COAP Heritage Wings Photoshoot 2026 - Ulster Aviation Society, Lisburn, Nr Belfast, Northern Ireland
Friday 18th & Saturday 19th September 2026
Two evenings. Seven iconic aircraft. One unique location.
COAP is delighted to announce its first-ever photoshoot in Northern Ireland, hosted by the Ulster Aviation Society at its unique museum near Belfast.
Across two consecutive evenings, after the museum has closed to the public, aircraft including the stunning Phantom FG1 XT865, Shorts SB.5 WG768, Tornado GR4 ZG771, Harrier GR9 ZD465 and Jaguar GR1 XZ389 will be positioned outside the historic T2 hangars for a series of carefully staged photographic scenes.
With authentic re-enactors, period vehicles and equipment, specialist lighting, smoke effects and exclusive after-hours access, this promises to be one of the most distinctive Heritage Wings events of the year.
Planned Aircraft Highlights
Phantom FG1 XT865 "007"
Presented in full Royal Navy markings, with canopies open, access ladders in place and the nose oleo extended to recreate the unmistakable appearance of a Phantom ready to launch. Across two evenings, this iconic aircraft – surely one of the finest preserved examples in Europe – offers enormous photographic potential.
Shorts SB.5 WG768
One of the most historically significant aircraft in the collection. The experimental research aircraft that helped shape the wing design of the English Electric Lightning will be the centrepiece of a unique late-1950s and early-1960s themed shoot.
Tornado GR4 ZG771
A first for COAP Heritage Wings. The opportunity to photograph a 'frontline' RAF GR4 Tornado in a dedicated COAP setting is sure to be a highlight of the weekend.
Harrier GR9 ZD465
A recent addition to the Ulster Aviation Society collection and making its first appearance at a COAP Heritage Wings event.
Hawker Sea Hawk FB.5 WN108
Finished in striking black markings, this classic Fleet Air Arm jet offers something distinctly different from our previous photoshoot subjects.
Jaguar GR.1 XZ389
Featuring pylons and recently acquired underwing tanks, providing an authentic Cold War appearance for photographers.
Spitfire Mk.IIA Replica & Bedford QL Fuel Bowser
A unique opportunity to photograph a classic wartime scene, combining the Spitfire with a period fuel bowser to create images rarely achievable elsewhere.
While the primary focus will be on the outdoor subjects, a number of other aircraft within the T2 hangars are expected to feature in supporting and cameo roles throughout the weekend, including:
Tucano T.1 ZF378
Canberra PR.9 XH191
Hawk T.1A XX260 (Red Arrows)
Vampire T.11 WZ549
Jet Provost T.3A XM414
Buccaneer S.2B XV361
This is a two-day photoshoot and a ticket purchase covers both the Friday and the Saturday shoot. However, we appreciate that not everyone can commit to an entire weekend, so if you really can only make one evening, drop us an email at events@centreofaviationphotography.com and we will see what we can do.
